ASSISTANT/ ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR / PROFESSOR OF VITICULTURE (TENURE TRACK).

Rank/salary dependent upon academic preparation and professional experience.  Established record of research, publication, and grant writing desirable.  50% teaching (undergraduate/graduate), 50% research, depending upon departmental needs.  

Ph.D. in Plant Science, Plant Physiology, Horticultural Science, Precision Agriculture, or closely related discipline preferred.  ABD candidates may be considered for a lectureship (temporary position) with possible conversion to tenure track upon doctorate completion.  Master of Science in Viticulture or related discipline, with minimum of 5 years viticulture experience and history of publication required for tenure track appointment.  Associate Professor or Professor appointment requires established and outstanding record of research, publication and successful grant writing commensurate with respective rank.  Initially, the successful candidate will be given a twelve-month assignment to teach general viticulture, mechanized viticulture, and advanced grape and vine management; advise students; supervise research projects; may also include web-enhanced and/or web-based instruction. Close interaction and cooperation with grape and wine industries is expected.
