The College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CA&ES) and the Department of Viticulture and Enology seek an internationally recognized leader in viticulture or enology to serve as Chair of the CA&ES Department of Viticulture and Enology. The selected candidate will be the holder of the UC Davis Marvin Sands Endowed Chair in Viticulture and Enology and will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to the viticulture and enology program at UC Davis and throughout California. The candidate must be qualified for appointment as full Professor and have an outstanding record in teaching, research, and extension/outreach activities related to one of the various disciplines encompassed by the department, which include plant and microbial biochemistry, plant and microbial genetics, plant physiology, microbiology, natural products chemistry, sensory science, soil science, and biochemical and chemical engineering.
