Assistant/Associate/Professor of Viticulture (Tenure Track)/Conversion (ABD) 

Position emphasizes wine grape production and vineyard management.  Candidates with interest in vineyard mechanization and precision management in the San Joaquin Valley preferred.  Initial assignment twelve-months.  Successful candidate will: teach (up to 50% dependent upon department needs) in the areas of general viticulture, mechanized viticulture, and advanced grape and vine management; advise and supervise students; engage in research; interact with grape and wine industries; collaborate on research teams.  Research supported through grants and contracts.  May teach distance education, develop web-enhanced and/or web-based instruction.  Ph.D. in Plant Science, Plant Physiology, Horticultural Science, Precision Agriculture or related discipline required for tenure track appointment.  M.S. in Viticulture or related discipline with  minimum of five years experience in grape production and history of publication may be substituted.  Candidates nearing completion of doctorate (ABD) may be considered for lectureship (temporary position) with  possibility of conversion to tenure track upon doctorate completion.   Associate Professor or Professor appointment requires record of research, publication, and successful grant writing commensurate with the respective rank.
