Oregon State University seeks nominations and applications for the Director of the Oregon Wine Research Institute. The Director will provide administrative and scientific leadership for 8-9 faculty from units within the College of Agricultural Sciences with appointments in the Institute. The Director will represent the Oregon wine industry regionally, nationally, and internationally. Production of Oregon wine focuses on quality. The Director will communicate this in these venues.

Earned doctorate in enology, viticulture, food science, horticulture, botany & plant pathology, business, or a related field is required. Other required qualifications include a national or international reputation for excellence in viticulture, enology or a closely-related field; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work with diverse faculty, industry clientele, stakeholders, including donors; demonstrated strength in collaborative leadership, organization skills, administrative and budget management experience, a current valid driver’s license and a demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.

Previous experience working the wine industry is preferred.

This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, fixed-term position, with a two year contract renewed annually (two year rolling contract).
