This program will be anchored with several speakers including Andrew Walker, University of California, Davis, with his vast knowledge of the wild Vitis species. International perspectives will be included from Europe and the southern hemisphere. In addition, the program will include overview presentations highlighting data from university research projects.  A grower panel will add value with commentary on their approach for the selection of rootstocks for new vineyard projects.

The day will close with a summary of the rootstock work that James Wolpert, University of California, Davis, and others have done since the discovery of biotype B phylloxera exactly 20 years earlier.
