Senior Staff Scientist Oenology
Specializing in Wine Flavour Chemistry, 50 per cent of your time will be devoted to applied research in oenology on issues relevant to the Canadian grape and wine industry, and 50 per cent on outreach activities to support the grape and wine industry in the Niagara region of Ontario and across Canada. A PhD in a relevant discipline (chemistry, biochemistry, food science, oenology and viticulture) is required, combined with knowledge in advanced analytical techniques for grape and wine analysis and the ability to troubleshoot problems with advanced analytical equipment. Senior Staff Scientist Viticulture
Specializing in cold-hardiness physiology, 50 per cent of your time will be devoted to applied research in the area of grapevine cold hardiness and related issues relevant to the Canadian grape and wine industry, and 50 per cent on outreach activities to support the local grape and wine industry in the Niagara region of Ontario and across Canada. A PhD in a relevant discipline (viticulture, plant physiology, horticulture) is required, combined with knowledge in field techniques related to woody plant physiology, particularly winter-hardiness measurements.
