Full-time, partially grant funded, 10-month position. Responsibilities include teaching 18 contact hours per semester, coordinating the Niagara County Community College Winery Operations program and its participation in the Viticulture and Enology Scientific Training Alliance (VESTA), student advisement, and participation in college and divisional activities. Must be able to travel to multiple off-campus locations throughout New York State. Current contractual annual salary is $41,822. Start date is August 30, 2012. Grant is funded through the 2014-2015 academic year. Continuation of winery program is anticipated upon conclusion of grant funding.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Viticulture and/or Enology, Food Science, Horticulture, or Biology and a Master’s degree; one (1) year full-time or equivalent part-time teaching experience at the post secondary level; one (1) year full-time or equivalent part-time experience in the grape and wine industry.

Desirable Qulaifications: Ph.D. in a related discipline; experience coordinating academic programs and internship placements; experience working in a community college environment; teaching experience utilizing state of the art technology; experience with academic program development, including knowledge of online teaching technologies and online course and program development; grant administration experience; demonstrated success in managing large scale projects and collaborative partnerships, including project promotion and recruitment; experience with or coursework in sustainable agriculture.
