This symposium will address every aspect of this vital topic with a strong panel of international speakers addressing the physiology, breeding, evaluation and performance of grapevine rootstocks throughout the world. Presentations will include focus on the physiological mechanisms responsible for rootstock pest, disease and stress resistance, the direct and indirect effects of rootstocks on vine physiology and fruit and wine composition, current rootstock use and adaptation, the resistance of traditional and newly released rootstocks to specific nematode species and host-races, rootstock genetics and breeding, rootstock x scion interactions and rootstock implications for vineyard design.
