As a society of wine and grape professionals, we promote industry vitality through the exchange of information and the support of research and education. We provide forums for the dissemination of basic and applied research as well as the consideration of critical issues affecting our members. We are committed to providing our diverse membership with resources for continuous improvement and professional growth.
Strategic Planning
The Board of Directors reviews and develops strategic planning in their annual retreat as investment in adhering to the ASEV’s mission and to emphasize relevancy for our members.
Recent strategic planning with focus on better serving our membership includes:
- Development of a program matrix to broaden the marketability, relevancy and distribution of program content
- Proposed by-laws revisions (e.g. Technical Program Director – for more focused program development with a more advanced timeline)
Key Board accomplishments include:
- Retiring the June trade show & redefining the annual meeting
- Supplier-Industry Seminars created to serve our diverse membership
- Annual meeting to be hosted in wine regions
- Publication of the ASEV Technical Update
- Creation of stand-alone, one-day technical programs
- More efficient communication methods with members using technology
- Management of Unified Wine & Grape Symposium
- Increased role in program development for the Unified Wine & Grape Symposium
