Supplier Showcase Seminar: Oak Issues

Our new interactive Supplier Showcase Seminars will bring our technical program right onto the trade show floor. These new seminars are designed to emphasize useful, practical, hands-on knowledge of the general topic category with specific product focus. The panel of speakers will integrate industry and/or academia with supplier expertise.

Seminar Information and Speakers

The use of oak in winemaking can greatly impact the aroma, flavor, finish and overall balance of a wine. There are a great number of options available to winemakers today to obtain the desired oak influence. This session will cover: the basics of some of the barrel options available, what it is that causes certain flavors in a barrel, barrel care and quality control and finally a look at oak alternatives to barrels.
