Mission: The Technical Projects Committee (TPC) identifies relevant technical issues in viticulture and enology as a focus for Society activities. The TPC maintains an actual list of scientific topics important to the wine and grape industry as a topics resource for future ASEV program events. The Committee may also play a role in organizing a specific seminar, session or symposia or developing an article for the ASEV Technical Update. The committee members also focus on technical information of current interest to regulatory agencies as it relates to policy-making decisions.

The committee is comprised of ASEV professional members and other representatives of the industry. The committee meets twice per year. Steve Kupina of Constellation U.S. is currently serving as the TPC Interim Director. The TPC Director is an appointed member of the ASEV Board of Directors. The Director is responsible for initiating, coordinating and overseeing activities of interest to the Society’s membership through TPC development.

An example of these activities includes the TPC Laboratory Proficiency Testing Guidance Committee (LPTGC) which is an ASEV ad hoc committee. ASEV contracts an independent, analytical testing service provider for this lab quality assurance program. The reports of these testing cycles are provided on an anonymous basis and are available through the ASEV web site. Please refer to the links below.
