Dr. Tony Wolf to Present the 2024 Merit Award Presentation
On June 20, hear from the beloved Dr. Tony Wolf of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, as he presents “Genesis of a Viticultural Research and Extension Program in a Novel Wine Grape Region,” at the 75th ASEV National Conference in Portland, Oregon.
Dr. Wolf is the research and extension specialist at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He is the architect of the blossoming Virginia wine and grape industry who introduced modern grapegrowing and winemaking practices to one of the oldest wine-producing regions in the United States. “I truly enjoyed all aspects of my work – the research, the extension, the teaching, as well as the administration. Seeing people profit from my efforts was hugely rewarding,” said Dr. Wolf. “Central to my own success was the collective team effort of an amazing group of collaborators. I am honored and I am extremely grateful to the ASEV for bestowing the Society’s Merit Award on me for 2024. Thank you.”
