Acclaimed Speakers at the 68th National Conference
The 2017 ASEV National Conference Technical Program Committee has put together a group of highly sought after speakers under one roof.
During the conference taking place in Bellevue, Washington, the gateway to the entire Puget Sound wine region, on June 26-29, these acclaimed experts will be sharing their technical knowledge:
- Dr. Andrew Walker of the University of California, Davis, will present the Merit Award presentation. Known for his grape breeding studies, he’ll talk about “The Southwestern Vitis – a Grape Breeding Motherlode.”
- Mr. Larry Bettiga of the University of California Cooperative Extension, Monterey County, will provide the extension perspective. His presentation, “Preparation and Delivery of Viticulture Extension on the Frontier,” will enlighten attendees on the best practices currently used in the field.
- Dr. Alan Lakso of Cornell University, this year’s Honorary Research Lecturer, will share his “Perspectives on Applied Physiology in Support of Viticulture.”
- Dr. Mark Krstic of the Australian Wine Research Institute has been studying the effects of smoke taint in Australia for 10 years. He will present the Keynote: Seeing through the Haze – Insights into Smoke Taint Impacts in Wine.
These experts are just some of the highly anticipated speakers for the June conference. Other programs, such as the Wine Oxidation Chemistry Symposium, best papers presentations, flash talks and industry seminars, also showcases highly regarded experts in their respective fields.
