The 2017 ASEV National Conference Technical Program Committee has put together a group of highly sought after speakers under one roof.
During the conference taking place in Bellevue, Washington, the gateway to the entire Puget Sound wine region, on June 26-29, these acclaimed experts will be sharing their technical knowledge:
Dr. Andrew Walker of the University of California, Davis, will present the Merit Award presentation. Known for his grape breeding studies, he’ll talk about “The Southwestern Vitis – a Grape Breeding Motherlode.”
Mr. Larry Bettiga of the University of California Cooperative Extension, Monterey County, will provide the extension perspective. His presentation, “Preparation and Delivery of Viticulture Extension on the Frontier,” will enlighten attendees on the best practices currently used in the field.
It’s not too late to sponsor a hospitality event or a speaker.
Deadline is June 1, 2017.

There are still sponsorship and advertisement opportunities, that
for minimal investment, will garner a high return. ASEV offers a
variety of different options that can be tailored to your
specific needs and budget.
While AJEV, established in 1950, is our flagship
journal, Catalyst: Discovery into Practice is
our newly launched journal. AJEV continues to publish full-length
research papers, literature reviews, research notes, and
technical briefs on various aspects of enology and viticulture,
including wine chemistry, sensory science, process engineering,
wine quality assessments, microbiology, methods development,
plant pathogenesis, diseases and pests of grape, rootstock and
clonal evaluation, effects of field practices, and grape genetics
and breeding. All papers are peer
reviewed, and authorship of papers is not limited to members
of ASEV.
Catalyst completes the continuum with translation of
research into practice and focuses on extending fundamental
discoveries in the scientific disciplines to sustain and advance
winemaking and grapegrowing. Catalyst will consider text-based
and video submissions. Its focus is to provide information in a
readily accessible format for readers via HighWire Press, the
current publisher of AJEV online.
After many months of waiting to complete the remodel of our new
offices, we are finally ready to move in. On Tuesday, May 23, we
will be settled into our new space. Only our physical
address has changed and we didn’t move far, just two
buildings away from our current office. It’s even in the
same office complex. Our new address is 1724 Picasso Ave,
Ste. E, Davis, CA 95618.
We will be closed May 19 and 22 for our move. Our phone system
will also be down during this time. However, our conference registration customer
service numbers will remain open, and you will be able to
leave voicemail messages in our general mail box.
We will reply to all emails and phone messages when our office
opens on May 23. For emergencies only, you may contact Executive
Director Dan Howard on his cell phone at 530-304-5208.
We are very proud of our new space and welcome anyone to stop by
for a tour and visit.
We are excited to welcome our new ASEV members and Industrial
Affiliates.
